The Amesbury History Centre Trust is pleased to announce that we have received a grant of £10,451 from the Amesbury Area Board. This grant money will be used to enhance our audio-visual equipment, including computers for research, projectors for lectures and displaying visual content, and tablets to integrate into our displays.
Cllr Robert Yuill, Chair of the Amesbury Area Board, said, “The Amesbury Area Board is delighted to approve the grant application for the Amesbury History Centre. The Centre will be a great asset for Amesbury by recognising the historical importance of the town in the wider Stonehenge landscape.”.
Paul Horrobin from the Amesbury History Centre Trust said, “Our application was supported throughout by Jacqui Abbott, the Wiltshire Council Community Engagement Manager for Amesbury. Our thanks to her.”
Christina Gane, Chair of the Amesbury History Centre Trust, said: “I am delighted that the Amesbury Area Board has awarded us this grant, which will fund the installation of audio-visual equipment, including a virtual-reality presentation of the archaeological work that has been carried out over the past few years on the site of Blick Mead.”
